1. If I do not want to invest in ERP what do I do ?
We are launching our ValGn-ES eSas™ solution as on June 15th 2008, which will be hosted at our Data Centre. The advantage is that we invest and you only pay as you use™. There is no investment from your end on the software and the server. In a typical case you may save about Rs 10 to 15 lakhs of initial investment.
2. What is the cost?
The cost for the solution is dependant on three factors:
i. The modules that you choose to use
ii. Number of users who will use the solution &
iii.The support level that you opt for
However, the cost structure may range between Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 10000/- per user per month.
3. What is the model?
eSas™ model is web enabled and is available to you on pay as you use™ subscription. In this model we host the solution on our secured data centre. Licensed and authorized users from your side can access the ERP through internet from anywhere, anytime, of course subject to certain security parameters you will want to incorporate
4. Is it a proven model “ Is there a proven track record in the Industry as well as Valgen?
This model is more popularly know as the SAAS™ model and is the current trend in the IT industry worldwide. In India this model is beginning to create the next revolution, especially for expensive solutions like ERP. We at Valgen have a proven track record for our ERP solution Valgen-ES which is web enabled and it has been successfully implemented for both SME™s and large manufacturing companies. Our eSas™ model is the same proven Valgen-ES solution hosted at our data centre which is being launched on the 15th of June 2008.
5. Have you done this or how many clients?
We are in the process of launching our ValGn-ES eSas™ model which is scheduled on the 15th of June 2008. However, we have successfully implemented our web based ValGn-ES eSp™ solution for different clients.
6. How do you ensure data security / confidentiality?
The data centre where the ValGn-ES eSas™ solution is hosted is absolutely secure with firewall and robust physical and logical data security in line with international standards. Further details will be shared at the appropriate time.
7. Are you having any certifications (ISO 27001, etc)
The data center is equipped with necessary certification. We will also make it available to you at the appropriate time.
8. Will you sign with our competitors also?
The eSas™ model is universal and is offered to all customers. However, individual customers™ data is stored independently and we have no access to the same. We only host and manage the application and not data. It is as good as your e mails being hosted by a service provider. There are also contractual obligations signed by us like NDA and SLA (which is being operated widely for the foreign customers for a decade now) to protect the confidentiality of your data.
9. What happens if connectivity is not reliable or lost?
Prior to implementation we will help you secure the best internet connectivity at you location along with a back up internet connection to ensure redundancy. However, in the rare event of connectivity failure which is out of our control, all the essential modules in the system will still function to ensure smooth flow of your operations. We will work out a solution to this effect on a case to case basis.
10. What kind of support will you give (like 24/7, etc)?
For your convenience and requirement we have classified our support into three types:
i. 24/7 support
ii. 9.00 am to 9.00 pm support Monday to Saturday
iii. 9.00 am to 5.00 pm support Monday to Saturday
While signing the contract we will include the agreed support in the SLA.
11. What happens if you go out of business?
Even if we happen to go out of business we will ensure that your business does not get affected by giving you to application free of cost along with your data. We can also give you the data alone if you prefer to implement a third party solution. Our contract will include suitable clauses regarding this.
12. What is the exit route in case of any eventuality at our end like (M&A), etc?
Incase you prefer to stop using our solution we can either implement our application at your site or give you the data alone which you can port to a third party solution.
13. Is there a customization cost?
We have built our solution with the best practices in the industry. We do not recommend any customization. However customization is possible and the same could be worked out after we understand your expectation.
14. Price escalation / Contract period?
We will sign up the contract with you for a 3 year term and will give you all the updates that we bring out during the term absolutely free of cost. Upon renewal of the contract the price at that point in time will be applicable.

FAQ™s “ Investment & Cost
1. What is the cost of the solution?
One time cost
i. Hardware: There is no need to buy a server at your end. You will have to have terminals with the recommended configuration installed at your site. If you already have systems at your site then there is no need for you to buy them.
ii. Connectivity: We will recommend you the most feasible and economical internet connection at your location and also the back up connection. The cost for the same will be available with the internet service provider.
iii.Security: We strongly recommend you to install a firewall at your site but it is not mandatory. We also recommend to clean up all your systems and make it bullet proof. You can either use your existing hardware vendor or we can execute it for you. The cost for this will be given to you at the time of signing the contract.
iv. Data porting : If you want to port the existing data you have we can do it for you. The cost for this will be based on the quantum of data available and also the format in which it is available.
v. Training: We will give you training as a part of implementation which will be free of cost. If you need additional training then we will bill you based on your requirements.
b. Monthly / Recurring cost: The cost structure will range between Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 10000/- per user per month based on your requirements.
2. Should I take all the modules?
ValGn-ES contains the following modules like:
i. Sales
ii. Manufacturing
iii. MRP
iv. Purchase
v. Inventory
vi. Subcontract
vii. Finance & Accounts
viii.Payroll
We do not insist that you take all the modules. However, as this is an ERP solution and in order for you to reap the benefits of the solution it is mandatory that you take all the four core modules i.e.; Sales, Manufacturing, Purchase, Inventory, Sub contracting & finance The other modules are optional and you can either take them initially or include them as your operations scale up.
3. Will it integrate with Tally?
Yes, we give you the option of either using our Finance module or integrating all finance related data with Tally or any other standard financial solution.

FAQ™s “ About Product & Implementation
1. Will you customize the solution for our requirement?
Our ERP solution ValGn-ES is built on the industry best practices. We do not recommend any customization. However, if there is a need for the solution to adapt to your unique business process then we can definitely customize it for you.
2. What will be the level of customization?
The level of customization will not be very high as the purpose of cost effectiveness in the eSas™ model cannot be achieved. If you would need high level of customization then we strongly recommend you to consider our same ValGn-ES solution in the eSp™ model which can be implemented and installed at your own premises.
3. Who will port the data?
The responsibility of data porting is yours but we can also provide the same as an added service.
4. Will you give training?
Yes, training is a part of our implementation schedule and will be given to all the users assigned by you.
5. Time to implement?
Implementation of the solution without customization generally ranges between 4 weeks to 6 weeks. We will give you an implementation schedule prior to signing the contract after understanding your business requirements.
6. Can I use my stationery like Invoice, etc?
Yes, you can use your stationery.
7. What MIS reports you have?
The system has all the necessary MIS reports and a set of standard reports. We can also build reports based on your business needs.
8. What Statutory reports you have?
Our system is flexible enough to accommodate all the state & central statutory requirements. It can be entirely parameterized by the users as and when there is a change in the statutory policies.
9. Can it be interfaced with other packages?
Yes, we can interface our solution with any standard third party software.

FAQ™s “ Infrastructure
1. Should I need a firewall or not?
We strongly recommend for you to install a firewall at your site. However, it is not mandatory.
2. How many users can operate at a same time?
There is no cap on the number of users who can use the system. The solution is built to support any number of users.
3. Can I operate from different locations?
Yes, ValGn-ES supports multi location
4. Can I access my laptop outside my office premises?
Yes, we can configure your laptop with a Client to Site™ configuration and you can use it with an internet connection.
5. Which mode of connectivity is the best and which service provider can best suit my requirement?
We generally recommend a DSL connection to all our clients. However, we can give you an accurate recommendation before signing the contract.
6. If internet connection fails through my single service provider what alternate do I have?
Prior to implementation we will help you secure the best internet connectivity at your location along with a back up internet connection to ensure redundancy. However, in the rare event of connectivity failure which is out of our control, all the essential modules in the system will still function to ensure smooth flow of your operations
7. Requirement of LAN Connectivity?
Yes, you will need to connect all your systems with LAN in order to use the solution.
8. Do we have to install any anti-virus software?
Yes, it is mandatory that you install anti-virus software in all your systems.
9. Roll of firewall?
Firewall at both the data centre and at your premises will block any unauthorized user / site from entering the server / systems at your site.
10. How many internet service providers can I have?
We recommend that you have at least two internet connections which will include both primary and back up connection. However, you can have as many internet connections as you wish at your site subject to availability of service providers at your location.
11. Outside the office premises if I access through my laptop should I have a provision of a firewall?
Operating systems such as Windows Vista comes loaded with an internal firewall. It is not mandatory that you have a firewall on your laptop.
12. Difference between VPN, DSL, WI-FI and Dial-up connection?
a. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection is a secure connection between two centres like the data centre and the client site. It is possible to establish a VPN over DSL connection if you want to have a robust secure connectivity.
b. A DSL connection is similar to your broadband connection where you buy the connection from your service provider at your desired bandwidth for internet usage.
c. A Wi-Fi (Wireless) connection is internet connection which is wireless and can be enabled for both your laptop as well as desktops using the data card provided by your service provider.
d. A Dial up connection is a slow connection that dials into the service provider using your telephone connection to connect to the internet. Nowadays, this type of connection is not in use as it is very expensive and the internet availability is not very reliable in this type of connection.
